SC STATE PAGEANT EVENTS

Twirling will begin with the letter "S". Strutting & Modeling events will be divided equal thirds per division.

Judged on Twirling (40%); Strutting (40%); and Modeling (20%)

Basic Skills contestants will do basic strut in place of X-Strut. You may enter both Basic Skills and Beginner Pageant

Twirling level determines division to enter!

Modeling Attire:

Basic Skills, Beginner & Intermediate Divisions: Contestants to Model in Strutting or Twirling costume per NBTA Rules (Copied from NBTA rules: "The athlete must wear either their twirling costume or strutting costume for modeling. Disqualification from the pageant for noncompliance with modeling dress code. The athlete may wear the same costume for all three parts of the pageant. ")

Advance Divisions: Tiny Tot & Juvenile model in party dress, Pre-Teen in party dress, long or tea length dress, Junior, Senior and College model in long or tea-length formal dress.

***All Pageant events Beginner-Advance WILL HAVE INTERVIEW.***

From the Miss Majorette Rule Book:

State and Regional preliminary pageants are open to all female contestants in United States of America, regardless of race, creed, color, or competitive status, regardless of affiliation.

 Eligibility for National Miss Majorette of America Pageant.

  1. The title winner, in each Advanced age division of a State and Regional pageant, is recognized as Miss Majorette. The first runner-up, and second runner-up in each age division of a State and Regional pageant are recognized as Royalty and are eligible to compete in the National pageant. ***The exception to eligibility is if there are contestants who placed in the top 3 in both their state and regional competitions. In this case, eligibility can be passed to the next highest placing contestant(s) (state or regional) who did not previously qualify at the first competition. Eligibility is not passed beyond fifth place.

  2.  At the National Pageant, the first place State and Regional title winners will be recognized by their titles and the others as Miss Majorette Royalty

Eligibility for Beginner and Intermediate Pageants at Notre Dame:

  1. ​​First-place Beginner or Intermediate contestants at a state or regional competition qualify for National Beginner / Intermediate pageants. Open to all International residents.
  2. Beginner and Intermediate contestants may compete in both State and Regional pageants at the same contest level during the same contest year. a. Should a Beginner or Intermediate contestant enter both State and Regional pageants during the same competitive year and win first in both pageants, eligibility for National pageant is determined by first win if the levels are the same. 
    1. If both wins are in the same level, runner-up in the second pageant becomes eligible. 
    2. A double winner does not relinquish titles or awards but merely yields National eligibility in the second pageant.
      1.  A runner-up in a Beginner or Intermediate pageant who gains eligibility to enter National pageant (after first place pageant winner declines to enter national pageant) is not required to count her newly gained eligibility towards the repeat Pageant ruling of two-win maximum. Eligibility cannot be passed beyond fifth place.

STRUT QUEEN:

Contestants compete in modeling, basic strut and military march.

Beginner and Advance divisions offered. (Suggested Nov/Beg enter Beg.; Int/Adv. enter Adv.) 

MILITARY MARCH DETERMINES LEVEL. MODELING ATTIRE IS STRUT OR SOLO COSTUME.


MODELING QUEEN:

Contestants may wear dress or costume of choice. If wearing dress, advance pageant guidelines for modeling attire should be followed

MUSIC:

Athletes that perform to individual music - Show Twirl, Rhythmic, Collegiate or Teams MUST upload their music in MP3 format at the link below or through our Music Submission page by April 20th, 2024.

NO OTHER FORMAT WILL BE ACCEPTED INCLUDING CD'S THE DAY OF THE COMPETITION.

SHANE DOWNEY MEMORIAL AWARD: 

This is a traveling award presented in memory of former SC twirler, teacher and judge. It is awarded to an in-state team, show twirl or rhythmic twirl of the day that stands out to the judges for it's artistry and choreography. Shane was a true inspiration to all who came in contact with him. 


STATE EVENTS FOR BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE WILL BE POSTED THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP AT THE TROPHY TABLE.

WE WILL BE RECOGNIZING ALL BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE STATE CHAMPIONS AT THE CONCLUSION OF SOLO EVENTS.


OPEN EVENTS, STRUT QUEEN AND MODEL QUEEN AWARDS WILL BE POSTED AND CAN BE PICKED UP THROUGHOUT THE DAY SATURDAY.


ALL ADVANCE STATE EVENTS, OPEN AND STATE PAGEANT EVENTS FOR ALL LEVELS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AS SOON AS TABULATION IS COMPLETED AFTER SOLO EVENTS HAVE CONCLUDED.


SCORE SHEETS WILL BE AVAILABLE ALL TOGETHER IN A PACKET FOR EACH ATHLETE TO PICK UP FOLLOWING THE CONCLUSION OF THE COMPETITION OR THE ATHLETES EVENTS ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED (IF APPLICABLE).


AWARDS NOT PICKED UP AT THE CONTEST WILL NOT BE SAVED FOR PICK UP AT A LATER DATE. IT IS SOLELY THE ATHLETES RESPONSIBILITY TO PICK UP THEIR SCORE SHEETS AND AWARDS BY THE END OF THE DAY.

Miss Majorette of South Carolina pageant and South Carolina State events are open to residents of South Carolina ONLY. 

Miss Southern Sweetheart open pageant, Strut Queen, Model Queen & all open events open to ALL states.

SC Pageant Twirl will start with the letter "S". All other events will be randomly computer sorted throughout the day to best run an efficient set system.
